In July I got to go on a senior trip with some amazing friends of mine and their moms. We went on a five day carnival cruise and spent another four or so days in Florida. It was a vacation of a life time and I'm so thankful I was able to go!
Were went on a five night Bahama Cruise on the Carnival Conquest departing from Ft. Lauderdale FL. Our stops were: Nassau, Half Moon Kay, and Grand Turk. Overall, we had a great time and the boat and excursions we went on were all amazing! I would definitely recommend.
Island One: Nassau!
Nassau was our first stop and we participated on a snorkeling excursion! It was truly beautiful! After the excursion we spent a little time shopping for touristy things!
Island Two: Half Moon Kay!
Half Moon Kay is Carnival Cruise lines private island. It was beautiful! This ended up being our lay at the beach and relax day! We were planning on doing an excursion but something happened and we ended up not doing it (I talk about it later in this post). This is the perfect island to do a beach day and we all ended up being glad our excursion was the next day! We walked all the way down the beach to a spot where there were very few people and we had almost the whole area to ourselves. The beach pictures above are all from Half Moon Kay. I definitely recommend doing a beach day here if you ever come.
Island Three: Grand Turk!
Here is where we did an excursion similar to the we had originally planned for Half Moon Kay. This stingray excursion we swam, held, and kissed stingrays, did some snorkeling, and laid on the beach. It was amazing! Seeing the stingray up close and getting to hold them is a once in a lifetime experience and I'm so happy I got to do it!
Day At Sea!
Our day at sea was a chill day for us. The cruise line held many activities throughout the day and we participated in a few on them. First was the photo scavenger hunt. This would have been fun if the staff member didn't go over with the last activity. We ended up only having 15 minuets to run around the whole ship and take pictures of random things. Other than that it was a fun activity! We didn't do much lounging at the pool because there was only one and it was packed the whole day. But we did get the chance to watch the harry man contest and boy was it a show! Let's just say it was interesting and not on my top favorite things we did on the ship. That day we ended up eating a lot of ice cream, playing mini golf, hammocking, and watching the balloon drop!
Overall, this was a fun cruise but I do think it's worth mentioning a few hiccups we had.
First, when us girls walked into our room for the first time we noticed that our bathroom light wasn't working. We called the front desk and they had someone come and fix it quickly with no problem. Then we also noticed that the room was not as clean as it should be. There was a stain/crumbs on one of the beds, chocolate mousse smeared on the inside of the fridge, and clothing tags and crumbs on the ground. We called the front desk again and after a while someone came and cleaned our room up. The cruise line ended up giving us eight free drinks as an apology.
Second, was with one of our excursions. At Half Moon Kay we were planning on and signed up for a stingray excursion where we could swim and hold stingrays. But when we got our tickets we noticed three of them were for one time and three were for a different. Now this could have been an error on our end and not the cruise lines. We all wanted to do it together so we made a change to do a stingray excursion at Grand Turk instead of Half Moon Kay.
A suggestion my friend, Victoria, and I would make to the cruise line is that they should make a "young adults" club. Somewhere where people from the ages 18-21 or so can hang out. Cruises have teen clubs for people 12-17 but nothing for the college aged. Victoria and I went to a "singles party" that was in one of the clubs one night but everyone in there was at least five or six years older than us and they were playing old music. We think cruises need a club for young adults who can't drink yet but still want to party. They can play popular today's hits kind of music and it could be a place to meet other people our age on the ship.
This was the second cruise I have been on and I had a great time and would recommend a cruise to anyone who has never been one one! If you want to see more of what my friends and I did, I vlogged the whole trip! Check out my YouTube channel to watch the fun! Make sure you leave a like while you are there!
