Jamaica Mission Trip 2016
So I have been kinda MIA here on my blog for over a month now and I'm really disappointed about it. I had such an exciting yet extremely busy summer and just want to blog about everything I did! This post in particular I have been most excited to write!
In July I had the privilege to go to Jamaica with my youth group and I had such an amazing time! What our group did was put together and ran two vacation bible schools, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. We also visited an orphanage and infirmary two of the days.
The trip challenged me in several different ways and gave me a new perspective on things. One of the major things it taught me was to be joyful in every situation. The kids and people down there had so much less than I do, yet were filled with joy. The Jamaican kids just instantly fell in love with you! And I fell right back in love with them! The kids at to orphanage were so joyful. I can't imagine people not wanting them.
Another thing this trip taught me was how to prepare a bible lesson to teach kids. Now that may sound easy to some of you but I'll be honest, I was terrified. But when it was time for me to teach all my nerves were wiped out of me and I ended up doing a great job.
More recently this trip has also taught me something else. God works everything out. Simple as that. When you have a decision to make pray and ask God for guidance. Because I did that, I had the opportunity to go on this eye opening trip.
Thank you to everyone who supported me financially or through prayer! I couldn't have gone without you all! :)
